Kayleigh & Richard’s Minstrel Court Wedding
Kayleigh & Richard had their Minstrel Court wedding one unusually glorious October day! And being able to capture their wedding photography for them was a dream… that admittedly came with a bit of drama, but we’ll get to that later.
Can you imagine waiting over a decade to marry your partner, and when you finally start planning your wedding, along comes a pandemic to make you postpone and wait a little longer…
⠀
Patience served Kayleigh & Richard well, as they couldn’t have picked a more beautiful October day – Seriously, I’ve not seen so many guests mingle outside in October!
⠀
From tears of joy ALL round after seeing how amazing Kayleigh looked, to a photographer’s mishap (read on for more deets), all the way to fireworks at the end of the night. The day was a rollercoaster of emotions wrapped into one awesome wedding.
Wedding Ceremony at the Lake Pavilion, Minstrel Court
Okay, so the mishap story goes like this.
⠀
Kayleigh & Richard had just been officially married, spirits were running high, and guests were applauding and cheering as they were leaving the wedding ceremony.
⠀
Walking back down the aisle, and across the bridge at Minstrel Court. I was following them… backwards. Walking backwards, we cleared the bridge. If you thought the hard part was over, like me you are sadly mistaken.
⠀
You see, Minstrel Court have some low level lanterns that light the gardens of the wedding venue. Stop you falling in the lake at night, and that. Something I’d seemed to have forgotten, and I carried on walking back thinking about all the awesome shots I was getting from all the angles!
⠀
And yep, backed right over a lantern, fell arse first, and smashed the light. Not only that, but I’d tripped the WHOLE of the outdoor lighting. YEP! Whoops.
But I still had a wedding to shoot! Minstrel Court set to get the lighting fixed while I carried on shooting, answering “are you okay?’s” with heartfelt thanks.
⠀
After determining it wasn’t worth the cost of an insurance claim, I paid the small fee to get an electrician out who’d luckily sorted everything by the time we had the group pictures in the bag.
