2024 Wedding Moments

What a year it’s been! Sitting here reflecting on 2024, I remember a host of challenges. But, it was also jam packed with moments that made me fall more in love with what I do. Moments that make me grateful for each and every couple who books me to tell their unique story.

So to you, dear wedding couples of 2024, thank you for making this year for me by allowing and trusting me to capture your wedding, it’s always an honour and a privilege to do what I do.

The Road To Resilience

Let’s start with the tough stuff because, honestly, it’s important to acknowledge it. This past year for me included battling overwhelm and burn out from an overwhelmingly busy year in 2023.

It led me to scale back the business in terms of admin and marketing and really focus hard on the clients I had booked for that year, so I could ensure I gave them the best service possible. Because that will always be my priority.

This means 2025 is looking a little lighter for me, but with a much needed break from the admin side of things, I’m ready and raring to make this my comeback year.

An Idea for Something Bigger

Mental health is something so close to my heart, and something I would love to support in my business.

Going forward I’m going to be looking at ways I can use the business to help support mental health charities. It’s always been my dream to do this, so I’m putting it out there to make it happen!

Those moments didn’t break me. They’ll make me better at what I do, one hundred percent. They make me more resilient, better at looking after myself, more prepared, and well hopefully a bit wiser!

I’ve learned to embrace the unexpected, roll with it, and adapt. To allow myself a break, to give myself time to focus on what matters most. Which has only deepened my connection with the couples I get to work with.

The Wonderful Wedding Community

What I’m also grateful for in 2024, is being a part of this community. People don’t get into wedding businesses for the money, they get into it because they love working with couples to ensure they have the best day ever!

As a wedding photographer, I get to work closely with other suppliers, but its the other photographers who pick me up the most. I’ve made so many amazing friends in this industry, and I’m thankful for each and every one of you, who are always there to lend a hand, help and support along the way. The community over competition vibes are outstanding with you peeps.

To my wonderful couples, your vulnerability, your trust, and your willingness to let me be a part of your love story made this year, like so many before it, unforgettable. And I thank my lucky stars for the wonderful job that I get to do.

While 2024 was a tough year in many ways, it was one of massive personal growth (ask my therapist!?). It was a year of learnings in some ways, I learned about myself in business, when I need to take a break.

I learned more about the things I enjoy doing immensely and how important it is to include those in your life. And I learned a lot about love, and I once again have my wonderful couples to thank for showing me what love looks like everyday. Apologies for the cheese, but it’s a real freaking honour!
