From First Kiss to Forever at Vaulty Manor
Some love stories just hit differently.
Rhii & Matt’s started back in secondary school – first kiss, young love, and then life doing its thing and taking them in different directions.
Fast forward a few years and a global pandemic, and fate had them finding their way back to each other.
And as Matt said in his speech – he married the girl he had his first kiss with.
Goosebumps, am I right?
This story has layers, and that’s exactly what makes it raw, real and beautiful.
As their Vaulty Manor wedding photographer, it was a frigging honour to be the one to tell it.
“I’d Marry Him Anywhere” But We Get To Do It At Vaulty Manor!
Rhii told me before the wedding: “I could marry him anywhere… we’re just lucky we get to do it at such an amazing venue.”
And honestly? That cemented it for me. It’s not about the venue, the location, the flowers, the money you spend. It’s about marrying YOUR person.
But seeing the gratitude that they get to do it at Vaulty. Ahhh chills… AGAIN guys!
This was a day about celebrating Rhii & Matt as a couple, going into the next chapter of their lives. And not about putting on a show. My kinda wedding!
From heartfelt, personal vows to constant laughter throughout the day, this alternative wedding was wonderfully real, emotional and completely them.
Cars, Crisps & Proper Good Vibes
Now… where do we start? Here’s just a few of the things Rhii & Matt did to make their wedding more, well… them!
- A crisp wall (still obsessed).
- Cars making their appearance (a big part of them).
- And a 50s dance lesson getting everyone involved.
- Flower boys & groomsmen
- Personal vows
- A bouncy castle
- Throwing the bouquet to the lads
This wasn’t a sit-down-and-be-quiet kind of wedding, it was a get involved, have a laugh, and enjoy every second kind of day.
And that’s exactly what happened!
As an Essex wedding photographer, these are the weddings that create the best moments; unplanned, unscripted and full of life.
Energy, Personality & A Bit of Chaos (The Good Kind)
When I photographed Rhii & Matt’s engagement shoot, she was really nervous. And at first she struggled to see the beauty in herself.
Something I wish I had the capacity to change in everyone, and something I’ll continue to stive to do.
I was nervous to deliver their wedding photos. But the review I got back from this beautiful couple.
“I hated having my photo taken. Absolutely hated it. Oh how I have changed!
I have never looked at photos where I’ve actually thought I look kind of beautiful but wow she did that and more.
Since receiving our photos Lins has had such an effect I don’t think she even knows about, I am more confident and now actually want to have photos taken.”
God it makes me well up everytime I read that. THIS is exactly what I want my people to feel. Worthy. Beautiful.
‘Cause I may help bring it out, but it’s been inside you ALL along.
