Martyn & Karina’s Moot House Harlow Wedding | 23 July 2016
To have been chosen to photograph Martyn & Karina’s Moot House Harlow Wedding was awesome. Back in 2016 when I was starting to become serious about photographing weddings, Martyn & Karina were let down by a friend.
It wasn’t too long before their wedding day when Martyn gave me call. He explained their story and asked if I was available. After meeting for a chat we decided to go ahead.
Chatting about the Wedding
I started meeting with my couples prior to their wedding from the beginning. And still do. Because it’s super important to meet with the person you want to photograph your wedding. For a number of reasons, but firstly so you can get to know me better.
You wouldn’t want me to show up on the day of your wedding and for whatever reason we don’t click. It’s my belief that this shows in the wedding photos. You need to feel relaxed and comfortable. It also gives you a chance to ask any questions, see the wedding albums and get a sense of how I work.
The Wedding Day
The wedding day came round pretty quick, and it was a scorcher. One of the hottest days of 2016! The guests wanted to get inside and out of the sunshine it was that hot!
Martyn and Karina aside from being a little on the hot side, had a really relaxed day surrounded by loved ones. Karina had opted to get a a stunning classic wedding car to get to the ceremony. And from there ceremony and reception were both at the Moot House. Their ceremony was held in the larger room of the Moot House due to their guest count. And the reception was kept simple and focused on the things that mattered to them.
Martyn and Karina embraced their day and made it so simply beautiful, a wedding that suited them. And the guests just had an absolute ball.
