Family Photography Essex – Family & Dog Session in Danbury Country Park!
This wonderful family came to me at a recent dog show. Looking for someone who would not only photograph their best friend, but them together as a family with their canine best friend! An obvious yes from me, we booked in a date then and there. When that weekend rolled around, the typical British weather was back to dampen our spirits and rain off the shoot.
Reorganising this family photography session in Essex at Danbury Country Park on chilly but beautiful autumnal late afternoon, we planned our session. A gorgeous location for a shoot; there’s the lake with a little sandy beach-like area, as well as lots of open space. In autumn, it was gorgeous.

Whenever I shoot with a family, I like to find out if there’s a location they visit that they’d like to go to. This is important with dogs because if they’ve visited regularly, they’ll feel more comfortable and relaxed there. The family will too of course.
My first time at Danbury and I loved every second, there was so much scope, so many ideas. I took a lot of photos. I delivered a lot too – I felt so bad because I knew it would make the decision process harder when these guys came to choose their images. There were just too many shots I loved!
Autumn is my favourite season because the colours are just stunning. These guys were absolute naturals at being natural. Even the young lad told me it wasn’t as bad as he thought it’d be! I’ll take that as a win 🙂
