Kay & Dave’s Wedding Photography at the Cheshunt Marriott

The Wedding Rehearsal

One day shy of a week before Kay & Dave’s wedding day, we met at the Church for the rehearsal and to talk through our plans for the day.

I met the Vicar taking Kay & Dave’s wedding ceremony at St Laurence, where he told me it was good of me to come out on a Sunday. “Me, I have to work every Sunday.” Taking me a half a minute to realise the joke, I eventually caught up and we had a good laugh!

We walked through the order of service for the ceremony and tested the timings while walking in to the music. Kay & Dave had the wonderful Christie Prentice playing during the ceremony. As such we wanted to make sure everything ran perfectly. The bridal party needed to walk slowly, one at a time down the aisle and each waiting until the person in front made it to the front of the Church. Perfect! I can get a clear photograph of each member of the bridal party as they walk down the aisle.

We then chatted happily about the day and went over some final plans such as where we would take group photos, timings for the day, etc.

The Wedding Day!

Finally the day of the wedding came around. You may remember it as the hottest day of the year so far!

On the morning of the 29th June 2019 I arrived at the Cheshunt Marriott to photograph Kay’s bridal preparations. The reception room at the Marriott was still being set up as I came in so I headed straight to the bridal suite, where Kay was getting ready.

I started with the detail shots, first taking the dress out to hang on the gazebo in the gardens of the Marriott. I photographed the rest of the detail elements in and around the action in the bridal suite.

Having Singer Christie Prentice play music during the ceremony was a beautiful touch and she even stayed and sang a little into the reception too. As the day turned into evening it was, however, important to also have some fun! And that was introduced in the form of singing duo the Sing Along Waiters. They surprised everyone after dessert and put on a brilliant show for Kay & Dave and their wedding guests. Some guests even got up to dance to Grease, by order of the bride of course!

The Sun Shone All Day!

The weather had been a bit hit and miss and I’m pretty sure it was raining the week before. Taking that into consideration, Kay & Dave couldn’t have picked a better wedding date, it was a scorcher! Surrounded with good friends and family, good food, great entertainment, a beautiful service, Kay & Dave really did have an awesome wedding day!

Congratulations again to the new Mr and Mrs Grantham! Thank you for choosing me to tell your story and share you day with you. Scroll down for a small selection of photos from the day.
