How Can I Celebrate My Original Wedding Date?
The new C word in town has been causing wedding chaos since the start of the pandemic. And while we’re looking to a positive future, for some, postponing is still the only answer.
If you’ve decided to postpone but your original date is coming up, why not find a way to celebrate your original wedding date?
Here’s some ideas to get you started.
1. Host an at-home wedding ceremony.
Why not use the day as an excuse to get all dressed up, employ a family member/child/member of your bubble to be your officiant and record a small ceremony on your phone?
I’ve seen a few of these videos going around on socials and they’re always so blooming amazing.
Send it onto family and friends to keep them involved, or even live stream on socials if you’re feeling brave!
2. Cook your wedding meal
I love the idea of recreating what you would of had as your special wedding meal. You can’t have it for real, why not give it a go yourself. Super romantic.
If you’re not a great cook, why not see if your wedding venue will let you come in and have an outdoor picnic if the weather’s nice? This tip came from the lovely @alexandra_canham_photo over on my Instagram post.
3. Have a photo shoot!
Alright I might be a tad biased on this one, but having some couples photos to mark the day is a great idea! Why not use the opportunity to get creative and have some fun!
4. Zoom party with your guests
Get all your guests on a zoom call and have a virtual get together. You can tell them all about your plans for the new date how things are going, do a quiz, anything you want really.
Perfect to celebrate with those who would otherwise have been with you in person.
5. Write a letter to give them on your new wedding date
Okay, photo shoot aside this one is actually my favourite. It’s super cute, super romantic, and an all out awesome way to remember how far you’ve come to get to this point together.
Make sure you get photos and videos of you both reading your letters on the day too please, because these will be moments you won’t want to forget!!
